Psychotherapy with Individuals

Milton Erickson said, “Psychotherapy is the individual responding to the individual.” In this process the therapist creates a relationship in which the patient feels accepted and “heard” and can discover new awarenesses and abilities. The relationship can be so safe and comfortable that old vulnerabilities and hurts can be dissolved and new insights and openness to life can occur. When people in this special relationship find that they can trust and accept all parts of themselves they can “come home” to who they are and create new pathways to a richer and fuller life.
